Library Knowledge Services (North)

HEALER Meeting

Knowledge for Healthcare has identified a need to embed library and knowledge specialists in NHS research, as providers of evidence and as research practitioners. One of the means of achieving this, is to create a research community of practice for health library and knowledge services practitioners.

As the first step towards creating a research community of practice it is proposed to investigate the possibility of reinvigorating the Health Information and Libraries for Evaluation and Research (HEALER) network. This network existed to:

“increase the production of good quality health information management research and to ensure that a co-ordinated approach to research into health information management is established so that it is clear what research is taking place and where the outputs are stored.”

A meeting will take place on the 28 October in Leeds with the aim of moving this forward. Further information and booking.
